The thesvg Figma Plugin is Live
The thesvg plugin for Figma is now approved and live on the Figma Community.
Install it here: https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1612997159050367763
What it does
Search our full library of 6,030+ brand SVGs from a panel inside Figma. Click an icon and it drops onto the canvas as an editable vector node, ready for color, resize, mask, or component conversion.
Why we built it
Designers kept telling us the same thing: they were keeping a thesvg.org tab open, downloading SVGs to disk, then dragging them into Figma. That round trip kills momentum, especially when you're auditing a logo wall or building a brand integrations page with 30+ marks.
The plugin removes the round trip. Search, click, done.
What's in v1.2
- 6,030+ brand icons across finance, dev tools, gaming, entertainment, telecom, auto, pharma, and 50+ other categories
- Variant picker: hover an icon, click the badge, pick color, mono, dark, light, or wordmark
- Recents row: the last 12 icons you inserted, persisted via figma.clientStorage so they survive plugin closes and restarts
- Keyboard shortcuts: Enter inserts the first search result, Cmd+F focuses search, Esc closes
- Theme aware: matches Figma's light or dark UI automatically
- CDN-backed: catalog and icon files come from jsDelivr, so the plugin stays fast even during peak load on thesvg.org
Install
Open Figma, go to Resources → Plugins, search for thesvg. Or use the Community link above and click Install.
Works in Figma Desktop and the browser. No account needed beyond your existing Figma login.
What's next
We're shipping a few things alongside this launch:
- A drop-in agent skill at
skills/thesvg/SKILL.mdso Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI coding agents can fetch brand icons fluently using our CDN. Compatible with skills.sh discovery. - The Figma plugin link is now in the top bar of thesvg.org and on the extensions page.
- README badges updated.
If you build anything cool with the plugin, share it in GitHub Discussions. And if there's a brand missing from the catalog, submit it at thesvg.org/submit.
